Ron and Marilyn Abbott
Marilyn and I have been married 59 years. We have one daughter, Denise, who also attends West Bradenton with her husband, Richard. We joined West Bradenton in the fall of 1980 and began teaching a Sunday school class about 6 years later, Marilyn in the children's department and I in the adults. I have taught a married adults class, a men's class, and 2nd grade class. When we were newly married, I taught high school in Indiana. We moved to Bradenton 1979 and I worked for Tropicana until I retired. Marilyn and I now prepare taxes from our home and enjoy meeting and helping people. We also get an opportunity to witness to some of them. We enjoy going to the mountains and hiking, bird watching, and getting together with friends.
Our class is mainly a retirement age class, about half of them are from up north and go back for the summer. We get a lot out of our lessons and enjoy some lively discussions. I personally enjoy the class’s comments because, at our age, we have all sat under different Pastors and have spent years studying the Bible, which allows us to bring different insights which help us all grow spiritually. If this sounds interesting to you, we would like to extend an invitation for you to join us!
