About Us

Our Beliefs

West Bradenton Baptist Church holds to the beliefs detailed in the Baptist Faith and Message. Below is a summary of how our beliefs relate to our mission statement.

West Bradenton Baptist Church exists to be a neighborhood church for the nations.

Glorify and Love God Passionately:

God is the creator and sustainer of all that exists, infinitely holy and perfect in all aspects. He exists eternally in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; 32:6; Psalm 95:3-6; Isaiah 64:8; Mark 1:9-11; John 14:6-13; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Timothy 1:17)

All mankind is created in God’s image, made to worship and glorify Him. (Genesis 1:27-28; Psalm 73:25-26; Isaiah 43:7; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10; Hebrews 11:6)

The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind. It is divinely inspired, and is therefore, authoritative in all matters and without any error. (Deuteronomy 4:1-2; 17:19; Psalm 119:89; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:17-18; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

All mankind has rebelled against God and stands guilty before him. However, God freely offers salvation to mankind, by faith alone, through Christ alone. (Luke 1:68-69; Acts 2:21; Romans 3:23; 5:8-10; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Ephesians 2:8-22)

The Church is an autonomous local congregation of believers. They observe the two ordinances, given by Christ: Christian baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. (Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 11:23-29; Ephesians 1:22-23)

Love People Practically & Serve the World Personally:

Following Christ’s example, Christians are to humbly serve others, daily seeking the good of others over themselves. (Matthew 20:26-28; John 13:12-17; Mark 12:31; Philippians 2:3-4)

Christ has appointed the Church as His means of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, through discipleship, both locally and to all the earth. It is the duty and privilege of each Christian to remain obedient to this command in their daily life. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8-9; Romans 1:14-16; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21)

Christians also have a responsibility to seek justice and help provide for those unable to provide for themselves. (1 John 3:18; Matthew 5:16; 25:34-46; Philippians 2:5-8)

Our History

West Bradenton Baptist Church first began meeting at Jessie P. Miller School in January 1954, as a church plant of the First Baptist Church of Bradenton.  West Bradenton Baptist Church relocated to the current property in September 1956. Having been planted by First Baptist Church of Bradenton, we believe it is a part of our D.N.A. as a church to plant other churches.  We have had the joy of planting several churches in Manatee County:

1977 - The Bridge (formerly Palma Sola Baptist Church)

1983 - Woodland the Community Church (formerly Woodland Baptist Church)

2009 - Hispanic Church of West Bradenton (currently meets on our church campus)

2010 - North River Church of Parrish (currently meets at Williams Elementary School)
